Health system: Groupement Hospitalier de Territoire de Coordination et de Mutualisation Est-Hérault et du Sud-Aveyron (GHT)
GHT-EHSA is an autonomous body, established in 2016, made up of nine hospitals located over two Départements (subdivisions) of France, namely Hérault and Aveyron. Overall, the nine hospitals employ nearly 15,000 workers, including 3,000 medical staff. The GHT is managed by the university hospital complex of Montpellier (CHU Montpellier, 2,500 beds), the third-largest French city near the Mediterranean coast. GHT Est–Hérault et Sud–Aveyron’s objective is to mutualize resources and strengthen joint work between public health professionals in order to better serve a community of more than one million people.
